Sauerland Highlands, Germany

I am a girl, about to turn 8 years old, and this type of holidays is what girls of my age group just love. It's all about outdoors, pony riding, looking after animals, and no real parental supervision required while on the property. Regional attractions, too, and the easy hikes in the surrounding hills are also fun.

During this vacation, I loved riding on the ponies for any length of time that I wished, as long as my parents were willing to guide the pony. It was also great fun playing go-cart or on the trampoline or the play ground with the many other children on the ranch. With my parents, I undertook near daily hikes in the surrounding hills. The hikes were quite flat and went through lovely forests and scenery. I loved searching for the multi colored mushrooms in various shapes.
